Oia, Santorini

White houses and blue domes line a cliff edge high above a deep blue sea.

Along the clifftop, white walls crowd together beside one orange house, and white boats sit on the water below. Seen from the sea, a small harbour hides at the foot of red-brown cliffs, with a windmill in the white village along the top. Other photos show small pools between the rooftops, a windmill and a dome against the sky, and waterfront houses with tables set out by the boats.

Oia is on Santorini, in Greece's South Aegean region: coast, island, historic site and countryside at once. Spring or summer is the time to visit. Tourists come in numbers, but the mood stays relaxed.
